Aramid paper is made from aramid fiber. It is used in particular for winding magnetic cables for large transformers and electric motors, as well as for insulation in generators and lamination for electrical systems.
Increasingly used as the main calendered paper for all applications where electrical insulation with a high thermal class is required, it offers high dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and elasticity.

Aramid paper is classified as Class C 220° insulation by Underwriters Laboratories (file E345451) and by all major certification bodies.
