Flexible laminate with polyester and non-woven fabric
The DM flexible insulation is obtained by hot coupling a non-woven polyester fiber fabric on one side of an electrical type polyester film, using high quality resins. The main function of the fabric is to improve the thermal aging of the polyester film. To further improve the thermal resistance of the laminate, the non-woven fabric can be saturated with special synthetic resins. Generally the unsaturated versions are natural white, the saturated ones are pink (other colors are available on request). The DM has a good resistance to heat and aging: in fact, the fabric is coupled with a special resin, cross-linked and heat resistant, which makes the material fall within the thermal class F 155°C. In electric motors, or more generally in rotating machines, they are used in slot insulation (slot bottom and tile) and as phase separators on the winding heads. In transformers and other static electrical machines it is used as a layer and winding insulator.
